Soundboard is where you can ask questions and get real advice from Berklee alumni. We match your questions with alumni whose background, skills, and experience make them the right people to help.

We look at what you're asking and cross-reference it with alumni profiles to find people with relevant expertise. This process ensures your question reaches someone who's been there and can offer meaningful guidance.

When you receive a Soundboard request, it means we have identified your profile as a strong fit for someone’s question based on your experience or other profile attributes. You’ll receive an email and in-app notification with the asker’s name, class year, major, their question, and a direct link to respond on Soundboard. You can click through to Soundboard to share your advice.

We limit outreach to prevent overnotification. You’ll typically receive no more than 1-2 requests per week.

Yes. You can adjust your notifications preferences in Settings to opt-out of participation. If you opt-out of Soundboard emails, you’ll still be able to browse and answer questions in-app.

Yes. You can opt out of participating in Soundboard at any time from Settings.

When someone answers your Soundboard question, you’ll receive an email or in-app notification with the responder’s name, class year, and major, their full response, and a link to view their response on Soundboard. You can reply directly within the Soundboard section of the app to continue the conversation, send a quick thank you, or ask a follow-up question.

Yes. You'll receive one notification per response.

After you reply, the asker receives a notification with your response. If they follow up with another question or comment, they’ll receive a notification with their reply. You can continue the conversation on Soundboard - each reply keeps the thread intact so you can track the full conversation.

Most responses come in within one week of submission. If you haven't heard back after a week, you can check Soundboard to see if your question is still active or consider reposting with additional context.

If you encounter inappropriate behavior or content on Berklee Connect, you can flag the conversation as inappropriate. You’ll be asked for a reason, and given a space to enter additional information or context. The recipient will not be aware that the conversation has been flagged.
